Jason wakes up in a mysterious world of magic and monsters.
It’s not easy making the career jump from office-supplies-store middle manager to heroic interdimensional adventurer. At least, Jason tries to be heroic, but it’s hard to be good when all your powers are evil.
He’ll face off against cannibals, cultists, wizards, monsters…and that’s just on the first day. He’s going to need courage, he’s going to need wit, and he’s going to need some magic powers of his own. But first, he’s going to need pants.
After cementing itself as one of the best-rated serial novels on Royal Road with an astonishing 13 million views, He Who Fights with Monsters is now brought to you in professionally formatted audio.

Nick Warne
The success of this series is unstoppable, and deserved. I would only point out that Heath Miller’s slightly staccato reading highlights every “Jason/Rufus/Gary said”. Once they draw one’s attention they can’t be unheard. Hopefully, this is mitigated in later volumes.
That said, Heath does a good job elsewhere, rendering the pseudo-gameplay messages in a manner that amuses rather than grates, which ain’t easy the umpteenth time he must repeat “One hundred iron spirit coins added to inventory”.
I enjoyed the story overall, and will buy another.

“There’s just something about how this book was written that annoyed me”, Chris said. “It’s the way the author is constantly reminding me what each character just said”, Chris said. “It makes me question whether I want to continue with the next book”, Chris said. “I found this particularly noticeable in the first half of the book”, Chris said. “However I think I got used to it towards the end”, Chris said. “I’m curious to know what happens in the next parts, but I might wait for it to go on sale”, Chris said.
