Publisher’s Summary
Desire leaves a man destroyed…. A young girl’s curiosity reveals secrets better left hidden…. An accidental encounter on a train ends violently…. Ambition leads to a curious exchange…. An uncanny likeness changes two lives forever…. Here is a novel in 16 chilling parts, linked by a glittering charm bracelet that brings misfortune to everyone who handles it. In Like a Charm, the cream of British and American crime writers combine for a must-have collection. From 19th-century Georgia, where the bracelet is forged in fire, to wartime Leeds, a steam train across Europe, the violent backstreets of 1980s Scotland, present-day London, a Manhattan taxi, the Mojave Desert, and back to Georgia, each writer weaves a gripping story of murder, betrayal and intrigue.

Dissatisfied and Disappointed and more
Depressing Violent. Crude. Vile Language.
And those are the highlights, the first half of the short stories delight in the violent abuse of women, except the very beginning.
Though it’s the vilest crudest, it’s the only one with a gentle Southern voice the narrator uses, all the rest grate and assault the ear. Truly awful to hear.
Most of the stories are by my favourite mystery thriller writers. I can’t recognise one, let alone commend anyone to listen or read.
If only I’d paid attention to the 1st review my money wouldn’t be wasted.
Forced to give one star before Audible accepted review, but it doesn’t deserve any.
