Publisher’s Summary

Soon to be a TV series starring Chris Pratt.

Deep in the wilds of Siberia, a woman is on the run, pursued by a man harbouring secrets – a man intent on killing her.

Half a world away, James Reece is recovering from brain surgery in the Montana wilderness, slowly putting his life back together with the help of investigative journalist Katie Buranek and his longtime friend and SEAL teammate Raife Hastings.

Unbeknown to them, the Russian mafia has set their sights on Reece in a deadly game of cat and mouse.

In his most visceral and heart-pounding thriller yet, Jack Carr explores the darkest instincts of humanity through the eyes of a man who has seen both the best and the worst of it.

    A great book

I really enjoyed this book. A good plot tempered by overly long descriptions of many backgrounds which were a bit tedious.
Looking forward to the next book in the series.

    Terribly boring

If you’re here because of the “If you love Jack Reacher…..” line, then run! This is nothing like Lee Child. This is more Michael Connolly. I almost didn’t get through the introduction and really should have given up there.
I can tell there would be some good action scenes, but by chapter 10 absolutely nothing had happened aside from hearing the extremely boring back story for the typical main players. American ex military “heros” who fought for freedom and absolutely did NOT invade Middle Eastern countries on false pretences to secure their oil reserves, Russian really evil guys, and CIA double agents. Such unique!
Finally, and predictably, the protagonist does not fire a gun. They fire a custom Sig-Sauer P226 with moulded grip and hand load 9×19 parabellum at 3600f/s.
